QUESTIONS OF THE MONTH - FEBRUARY 2012
13th February 2012
Vladimíra: Hi Mark, the snooker season is going on. Big congratulations from me to your coronation as Leicester Mercury Sportsman of the Year in January. It is a huge success to reach this award in your hometown.
You were not able to collect the trophy personally, because you played in the Masters tournament at Alexandra Palace in London. How big is your pleasure from this amazing trophy? It must have been extraordinary feeling!
Mark: Yes I was overwhelmed at winning this award. I have been nominated for several years, so to finally win it was wonderful.
Vladimíra: Mark, you are very consistent player. Is there any difference between your winter and summer practice? What is important for a snooker player in his preparation? How are you trying to improve your game technique?
Mark: No difference in preparation, just trying to stay consistent with my technique.
Vladimíra: There are two ranking tournaments after the German Masters in February - the Welsh Open and the World Open in China. You already won the Welsh Open in 2008. What are your memories of this tournament? How much are you looking forward to Newport this year?
Mark: The Welsh Open has great memories for me because it was my first ranking title, and I won it after just winning the Masters, so it was a good time for me. The Welsh crowd also love their snooker, so always a good crowd.
Vladimíra: The snooker season is always very busy with a lot of events. How do you relax and where do you get energy?
Mark: Unfortunately there's no time during the season to relax!! but we have 3/4 weeks off after the World Championships, so Vikki and I will go abroad and recharge the batteries!!
Thank you, Mark. All the best until next time.
